All teams attempt to make our guest feel as comfortable as possible. This team is no exception. Each team generously provides the complete menu for the evening, at no cost to the Shelter. They always provide a hot delicious, nutritious meal that our guests really appreciate. We use real plates and silverware. We also provide to-go boxes for those who do not stay the night or take left-overs to take with them or to give to one of their friends.

Current Dinner Teams:
Our committed Hospitality Teams Serve from 4 PM until 10 PM, sometimes in two shifts. These teams set up cots, providing clean linens and blankets for our guest. When the doors open (usually at 5:30), the teams check-in our guest at the Hospitality table, near the entry door. Each guest must show their ID and listen to our workers who read the Shelter’s rules and regulations and have them sign in on the log .
Current Hospitality Teams:
The Sheltering Tree cannot open without these highly valuable teams.
These teams Serve from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM the next morning. One person must be awake all times, to ensure the safety of our guest. Should an emergency of any kind arise, they are ready to handle any situation.
Current Teams and Members:
The Breakfast Teams arrive in sufficient time to serve a hot and hearty breakfast by 7:00 A.M. They prepare a variety of nourishing hot meals that may consist of bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, French toast, oatmeal, and fresh fruit(s). As soon as they arrive, in addition to preparing the meal, they put on coffee and a pot of hot water to allow our guest to have tea or hot chocolate.
Once the meal has been served, the team members will sit with a guest and make a friend. This helps to set the tone for their day, sending them off with a kind word and encouragement.
Current Rise 'N Shine Teams:
All our highly dedicated teams picth in and keep the facilities clean, cleaning as they go. All teams volunteer their time, talents, and treasures. The Sheltering Tree truly appreciates all their hard work and devotion.
As soon as the guest have left the hall in the morning, the crew begins cleaning. The restrooms receive a thorough cleaning and restocking of supplies. All dishes are washed and put away; the hall is straightened and readied for the next evening, if projected to be open.
If the Shelter is not to open the following evening, all the cots are stored, linens and dirty clothes brought to their designated area so as to leave the Fellowship Hall ready for the church to use. The hall is always left ready for the next event.
All this work is completed before closing the shelter for the day around 8:00 AM.
